July 3rd 2013 - Agricultural Engineering Students from Mâcon spent a day in Crewe and Nantwich welcomed by the Mayor of Cheshire East Cllr. Dorothy Flude. Their main visit was to Reaseheath College. Pictures here

May 27th 2013 The CANTA Chairman and his wife attended the 10th anniversary celebrations of the twinning association in Dzierżoniów.

March 15th 2013 French Students from the College Sainthelp with telephoning operator in spain-Exupéry in Mâcon followed up an e-twinning project with a visit to their twin school, the Sir William Stanier Community School in Crewe.

February 28th 2013 - Spanish themed evening meal for Canta members in the Dane Bank College Training Restaurant. 18 Canta members enjoyed an excellent evening together enjoying authentic Spanish cuisine.

2012

October 22nd -26th 2012 - 10 Cadets from the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spent 5 days in Bischofsheim from 22nd - 26th October meeting their comrades in the local fire service. They joined in training activities with the Bischofsheim cadets.

October 19th Oct-22nd 2012 - "Semaine Bleue" in Mâcon. A number of CANTA members visited the town to see how Mâcon serves its senior citizens. They also explained the range of facilities we have here.

26th Sept-1st Oct 2012 - Visitors to Crewe from Bischofsheim to celebrate 21 years of twinning.

September 14th-16th - The Bott family took a stall at the Nantwich Food and Drink Festival to promote the wine from their vineyard. Details of their vineyard are here.

July 15th-22nd 2012 Mâcon Twinning Association held the annual french summer school for citizens of their twin towns. With encouragement from CANTA four people from Crewe and Nantwich went. See a contribution from John Rogers.

July 14th 2012 - Nantwich Choral Society with L'Ensemble Vocal Arpege de Mâcon in Nantwich Parish Church.

July 14th-21st 2012 - Annual Mâcon French Language Summer School.

July 7th 2012 - Agricultural Engineering Students from Mâcon spent a day in Crewe and Nantwich welcomed by the Deputy Mayor of Cheshire East Cllr. Dorothy Flude. They visited the Municipal Buildings, the Heritage Centre and Reaseheath College.

May 19th 2012 - Nantwich Choral Society sang with La Chorale à Coeur in the church of St. Vincent in Mâcon.

4th-7th 2012 - HHS Accordian Band from Bischofsheim visited Crewe as guests of Crewe Brass. There was a joint concert at St. Michael's Church, Coppenhall and a concert from the bandstand in Crewe Park.

2011

October 19th-24th 2011 - Visit to Bischofsheim to celebrate 20 years of twinning.

August 7th-14th 2011 - Annual English Language Summer School

July 17th-24th 2011 - CANTA members participated in the annual Mâcon summer school.

7th July 2011 - A party of agricultural students from Mâcon visited Crewe and Nantwich and Reaseheath College.

May 23rd 2011 - CANTA members met with the former Mayor of Bischofsheim, Reinhart Bersch, at the Peacock in Nantwich to mark his retirement.

February 25th 2011 - Annual Dinner at the Fox Haslington. Ian, the cook, did everyone proud.

2010

'Stille Nacht' at Leighton Primary. In December 2010 CANTA members were guests at a Christmas carol concert featuring two traditional German carols.

A party from CANTA visited Bischofsheim as guests of the Twinning Committee for the Kerb Festival at the beginning of September 2010.

A group of five from Crewe and Nantwich attended the Mâcon French Summer School 18th-25th July 2010.

CANTA's first English Language Summer School was held from 11th - 18th July 2010.

Dzierżoniów and Bischofsheim celebrate 20 years of twinning this year. Members of CANTA represented our Twinning Association at events in the two towns. (Note: All costs were met by the participants themselves). We have a report of the visit to Bischofsheim.
On the 12th May CANTA members attended a tree planting ceremony at Leighton Primary School as part of a twinning initiative. We are helping the school establish links with a school in Bischofsheim to support a successful German teaching project in the school. We also visited the Delves Primary in Wybunbury to watch our webcam's link the school with Mâcon.

The Co-op 2000 band visited Bischofsheim to take part in a concert with the local accordion band from 23rd - 25th April 2010.

CANTA helped sponsor the visit of a youth football team from Dzierżoniów.

A party from the Association visited Dzierżoniów between April 30th and May 4th to represent us at their twinning celebrations.

A dinner was held at the Waverley Hotel in Crewe on the 19th February to say goodbye to Rosemary Tremper, a long-standing and hardworking committee member who is moving to France.

2009

A group of young Polish footballers from Dzierżoniów came on October 26th 2009 as guests of the Guy Harvey Youth Club.

On the 7th September 2009 our Chairman, Clive Mosby, gave a talk with slide show (in French) to the South Cheshire French Circle. He spoke about recent visits to Mâcon, its wine area and their annual Summer School. At the end of the talk the members were treated to a glass of Mâcon rouge.

On 29th August CANTA had a stall at the Crewe Park Fete

On Saturday 25th July we held a concert with the Crewe and District Male Voice Choir and the Normid 2000 band at St Michael's Church Coppenhall.

On July 7th 2009 CANTA once again entertained a group of agricultural engineering students from Mâcon. The Mayor of Cheshire East Cllr. Margaret Simons gave a talk and tour of the Municipal Buildings. They visited the Heritage Centre workshops and museum. A fish and chip dinner followed at ' Les's Fish Bar ' in Crewe. The Rotary Club then laid on a tour of Nantwich.
Gino Ceddia, the students' tutor said it was like coming home!!

On the 3rd July CANTA supported Kings Grove School at their Summer fair with a stall not only promoting CANTA but also providing fun activities for the children.

At the end of March 2009 the Borough of Crewe and Nantwich was replaced by Cheshire East Council. Details and pictures.

2008

The Mâcon Rouge rose, created to celebrate 50 years of twinning, was formally presented to the town of Mâcon this autumn. Story and pictures.

A group of youngsters from the Guy Harvey Football Club ( 15 in total) visited Dzierżoniów in June 2008

2007

Engineering students from Mâcon visited Crewe in October 2007.
